Rushing is the process through which you get to know the brothers and we get to know you!
The easiest way to let us know that you're interested is by attending an event. If you aren't able to attend an event, you can also contact one of our executive board members or join our Discord server. However you choose to show your interest, we look forward to getting to know you!
Once you've gotten to know the brothers and we've had the opportunity to learn about you, you will be invited for an interview. This is a meeting between you and a couple of brothers in which we ask you questions to ensure that you meet our academic and moral standards.
Following an interview, the brothers will vote on whether we'd like to extend to you a bid to join our brotherhood. Should you be offered a bid, you can choose to either accept the bid, defer the bid to the following semester, or reject the bid. If you choose to accept the bid, we will invite you to a ceremony, after which the new member education process will begin!
New Member Education (NME) is the four to six week process through which we teach new members about Psi Upsilon's history and values. It is also an important time for new members to bond with current brothers. Before the end of NME, new members will be paired with their big, a brother who will act as a mentor. NME is also the time in which new members are taught about officer positions and opportunities to grow with the hope that each new member will find their purpose within the fraternity. Following the end of NME, current brothers will vote on each new member based on their progress and fit within the fraternity, at which point new members will turn into full brothers!
